Please register and come to hear about three of the great organizations that our club helps to fund: Model UN at TTUSD, NTT Homeless Services and Headwaters Science Institute. Our speakers for the evening will tell you stories about how these organizations work, who they help and how they benefit girls and women. Come eat pizza, get to know others better and learn about where our money goes!
When: October 14; 5 - 7 p.m.

Cost - $10 each; please bring cash or check for the pizza; drinks can be purchased at the bar

Please join President Shirley for a Potluck Dinner Mixer. This will give newer and more tenured members a chance to get to know each other in a casual fun setting, outside the more structured events. Bring a dish to share based on your seniority. Shirley will provide a main dish/protein, and of course wine and soft drinks/water.

Come join us for a FUN night of making candles at Our Rustic Heart Candle!!
When: Nov 14 at 5:30
Where: 10975 Pioneer Trail, Unit #2
Pioneer Commerce Center
How: Cost is $48 and includes the how-to, supplies and everything we need to make a 16 oz custom jar candle.
Additional 16 oz candles made are $30 each - and other candles to make are priced accordingly.
Our Rustic Heart Candle company will provide various non-alcoholic beverages and cookies.
Soroptimists will bring wine and other appetizers - because we are all about the gourmet aspect.
Deadline to sign up is Oct 28 - and is limited to 16 people, so please only sign up if you are a firm commitment.

What does a barrel monitor do? You will pick up the barrel (actually a large decorated box) on Tuesday Nov 19th or Wednesday November 20th (location at the airport)and take it to the merchant who has agreed to take the box. If you cannot do these dates, please arrange to have someone do it for you. Then you are responsible for checking the boxes once a week or so, taking out the toys and dropping them off at the airport for temporary storage. The final day for you to do the pick up is Wednesday December 12th (all day) or Thursday morning before 12. I would love it if you would offer to do at least 4 locations, or feel free to do more, maybe share pick-ups with another member. We all have social events this time of year and it is great to have another person who can pick up toys in your absence. Once signups are complete, we will reach out we will reach out to you directly to determining the location and #of barrels for each monitor.

Soroptimist of Truckee Donner is continuing our tradition of hosting our Soroptishop Holiday Artisan Faire. Start your shopping early for local artwork, jewelry, pottery, clothes, cosmetics, herbals, handcrafts, hand blown glass and much more! Over 50 local and small business artisans participating. Tickets for our in person portion can be purchased in advance HERE. Shoppers pay just $18 to attend and will receive a glass of Truckee River wine to enjoy while shopping. All ticket sales to benefit our local community through Soroptimist of Truckee Donner! |

Hello Lovely Soroptimists,
Happy new year! We have our first SUDS of the year scheduled for next Thursday, Jan 16 at 5:30. This is a recruitment SUDS and a Social event co-hosted by Constance and Lisa, so if you know anyone interested in Soroptimists, please bring them at 5:00 (we’ll have an info session with the prospective members early) and let Lisa Simone know. We’ll be charging $20 to members which includes wine and appetizers. Let’s start the year off with some wine and good company!!

SITD's Celebrating the Best for Women Awards Reception showcases our club’s continuity of commitment to women and girls of Truckee, at all stages of their life journey, with programs that embody our great Soroptimist mission. We will celebrate the recipients of our Violet Richardson Award, which recognizes girls engaged in volunteer action, our signature Live Your Dream Award which gives access to education to women head of household. Our newest program, our Career Advancement Scholarship, provides for continuing education, and finally, our 2024 Ruby Award recipient, locally known as our Women of Distinction. This award honors a woman who has made an extraordinary difference in the lives of women and girls. Members: Please visit the volunteer sign up before registering.
