Highway Clean-up Accomplished!

For 3 hours on Monday, September 18th, 9 of us cleaned up trash on our section of 80. Your SITD volunteers included Philippa Nigg, Dori Schick, Kim Polites, Linda Slatterly, Tonya Barron, Shirley Phalen, Debbie Quement, myself and volunteer, Mike English.

We picked up 42 bags of trash, lots of chains, and anti-freeze containers. We left the trucker's pee bottles on the side of the road. Debbie found some Monopoly money and Dori found (I think) some deer vertebrae.

Afterwards we enjoyed a cup of coffee together at Wild Cherries to share our findings. It's hard work, but satisfying. Take a look at the section between Central and Overland exits on both sides of the highway. Also, note that SITD is on the sign at the start of our area.

We plan our next litter pick up in the spring after the snow melts.
