Let's celebrate March!  Our March Social event is a  Green / Irish party at Shirley's House!   Wear green and sign-up to bring something green or Irish!    

It is a pot luck so please go to the volunteer section to sign-up! 

SITD's Celebrating the Best for Women Awards Reception showcases our club’s continuity of commitment to women and girls of Truckee, at all stages of their life journey, with programs that embody our great Soroptimist mission. We will celebrate the recipients of our Violet Richardson Award, which recognizes girls engaged in volunteer action, our signature Live Your Dream Award which gives access to education to women head of household. Our newest program, our Career Advancement Scholarship, provides for continuing education, and finally, our 2024 Ruby Award recipient, locally known as our Women of Distinction. This award honors a woman who has made an extraordinary difference in the lives of women and girls.

The topic is Tahoe Truckee Regional Homeless Action Plan. Kristina Kind is from the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation and will speak about the plan and the progress thus far. She should be able to answer questions about how we as Soroptimists can help.

June 19 at 5:30 p.m.  is our catered installation dinner to thank our current board and welcome our new board. Location is Lisa Saqui’s home, 11615 Kleckner Court. Cost will be $35 for a beautifully catered dinner by Jacob Bird of Tahoe Taste! You’re in for a treat! We’ll start with drinks and assorted appetizers. The dinner menu starts with honey blackberry spring mix salad followed by prosciutto wrapped chicken breast with asparagus risotto and finished with apple-tamarind sticky toffee pudding.  We’ll collect money at our business meeting on Thursday. Please sign up soon as we need to give Jacob a head count.

From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, gather at the charming Truckee River Winery to unwind and enjoy their fantastic selection of local wines. We'll have special happy hour pricing on glasses and bottles, perfect for a mid-week treat. Following our happy hour, we'll take a leisurely 15-minute walk from the winery to Historic Downtown Truckee to experience the vibrant Truckee Thursdays street fair! Starting around 6:00 PM, we'll stroll down to enjoy the live music, local vendors, diverse food trucks, and lively community spirit that Truckee Thursdays is famous for.
