As the Nominating Committee works to identify members who are interested in serving on the SITD Board of Directors and our members consider where they might best fit, we wanted to provide further details for each of the board positions. Remember, an active and engaged membership is critical to our club's success.

President: The President presides over all Club Board Meetings and Business Meetings, which are held at noon on the first and second Thursday of each month. They prepare the agenda for each meeting and manage the annual club calendar. They are encouraged to attend all club events and may, but are not required, attend committee meetings. They represent the club to the community. Because of the time commitment, the President does not serve on any committees during their tenure.

President-elect: The President-elect attends all Board and Business meetings and is ready to step into the role of President as necessary. The President-elect works to fill the committee roles each year and to schedule monthly program meetings in those months when an alternate event is not scheduled. These generally occur on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Because of the time commitment involved, the President-elect does not serve on any committees during their tenure. However, they have the option to attend committee meetings. The President-elect steps into the role of President in the following year.

Recording Secretary: The Recording Secretary attends all Board and Business meetings and records all pertinent information in the minutes. The Recording Secretary then submits these minutes to the Board and Members for approval during the subsequent meeting.

Corresponding Secretary: The Corresponding Secretary attends all Board and Business meetings. They receive all correspondence via post and email and forward it to the responsible party for disposition. They also prepare a monthly report/summary of all correspondence received by the club, to be presented at each board and business meeting for approval.

Treasurer: The Treasurer attends all Board and Business meetings. She handles the club finances, balances the checkbooks and income statements, etc. They file the club taxes and other financial transactions as required. They prepare a monthly report for the club.

Treasurer-elect: The Treasurer-elect attends all Board and Business meetings. The Treasurer includes her in all office activities so that she can step in for the Treasurer if necessary.

Delegates: The Delegates attend all Board and Business meetings, district meetings (two per year), and regional conferences (one per year) and, while there, vote as directed by the club and on behalf of the club, speak to any concerns of the club, and prepare a written summary of the event to present to the club at the following Business meeting. If a Delegate cannot attend one of these meetings, they must find a replacement and work with them to fulfill the requirements.

Director: The Director attends all club Board and Business meetings and fills in for delegates at district and regional meetings. Directors have previously served on the board to provide continuity from year to year.
